LC Augmented Hauberk 05/27/2010 04:01 PM CDT
I wanted to provide some more information about the 380 stone LC Augmented Hauberk since it's kind of a new item. Here's the app:

ARMOR PUNC SLIC IMPA FIRE COLD ELEC HIND CONS WGT
LC Chain Hauberk G/H G/H M/H M/G M/G P/G Mod/Mod FS 240
LC Augmented Hauberk H/H G/H M/H H/G M/G P/G Mod/Mod FS 380

And the comparison:

You are certain that the augmented hauberk is about as strong as the chain hauberk.
You are certain that the augmented hauberk is a little harder to maneuver with than the chain hauberk.
You are certain that the augmented hauberk is somewhat more resistant to fire and is about as absorptive of fire as the chain hauberk.
You are certain that the augmented hauberk is about as resistant to cold and is about as absorptive of cold as the chain hauberk.
You are certain that the augmented hauberk is about as resistant to electricity and is about as absorptive of electricity as the chain hauberk.
You are certain that the augmented hauberk is a little more resistant to puncture damage and is a little more absorptive of puncture damage than the chain hauberk.
You are certain that the augmented hauberk is about as resistant to slice damage and is a little more absorptive of slice damage than the chain hauberk.
You are certain that the augmented hauberk is about as resistant to impact damage and is a little more absorptive of impact damage than the chain hauberk.
You are certain that the augmented hauberk weighs quite a bit more than the chain hauberk.

In the comp we see the 380 has a little more absorption against puncture, slice, and impact. We didn't get that from the appraisal. Neither app nor comp show differences in the cold, electricity, slice, and impact resistances. So in other testing:

COLD (380 is better)

You are certain that the augmented hauberk is a little more resistant to cold and is more absorptive of cold than the mail gloves.
You are certain that the chain hauberk is about as resistant to cold and is more absorptive of cold than the mail gloves.

ELECTRICITY (240 is better)

You are certain that the augmented hauberk is less resistant to electricity and is more absorptive of electricity than the antelope-skin brigandine.
You are certain that the chain hauberk is somewhat less resistant to electricity and is more absorptive of electricity than the antelope-skin brigandine.

SLICE (380 is better)

You are certain that the augmented hauberk is somewhat more resistant to slice damage and is somewhat more absorptive of slice damage than the chain vambraces.
You are certain that the chain hauberk is a little more resistant to slice damage and is a little more absorptive of slice damage than the chain vambraces.

IMPACT (380 is better)

You are certain that the augmented hauberk is about as resistant to impact damage and is more absorptive of impact damage than the chain greaves.
You are certain that the chain hauberk is a little less resistant to impact damage and is somewhat more absorptive of impact damage than the chain greaves.

They're both good armors. It just depends on what you need. The 240 has been a standard goto piece for many years and is a good choice if weight is an issue. But the 380 has some definite selling points. If weight isn't a problem for you, then the 380 might be worth a look.

My forged chain is sold by Ciressa at the Riverhaven Trader tables on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday with a possible weekend day. From the Riverhaven town hall/temple it's north, go building, up. Visit her tables or contact her at Katyaska on IM.
