Shock Transference 05/22/2001 08:45 PM CDT
'Lo again. :)

During my time as a player and a GM, we've had incidences where novice Empaths have been rolled up and taken shock from a significantly more experienced Empath...and then discarded again. We've had several Empaths too young to know any better take it from another Empath, only to be stuck not being able to heal for extended periods of time.

Though I can definitely sympathize with the horrors of getting shock, taking shock should be a significant sacrifice on the Empath's part. Shock is no ordinary "injury" - it is a disruption in an Empath's ability to use their own healing talents, and logically it should be harder to alleviate. To have a rank novice taking shock from another Empath cheapens the penalty.

Effective immediately, any Empath under 10th circle will not be able to take Empathic shock from a fellow Empath. The ability will be granted immediately upon reaching 10th circle by the guildleaders, accompanied by an explanation of what using it means.

Sincerely,

GameMaster Nionon
