Design A Songbook Contest! 08/06/2000 12:49 PM CDT
Reposting from News 28 for you folks. :)

~Deryka~

[8/6/2000] DESIGN A SONGBOOK Contest.

1) Only the first entry submitted by each Bard will be considered for the contest. This contest is only open to Bards.

2) Entry must contain the following information in the header: Character Name, Date Submitted, and whether the Bard is in DragonRealms Prime or DragonRealms Platinum. Entries MUST be submitted by midnight September 1st, pacific time.

3) Entries should be sent to DR-MELODIA@PLAY.NET, DR-HOOME@PLAY.NET, DR-DERYKA@PLAY.NET and will only be accepted if they are enclosed in the body of the email or attached with a TXT file. All other emails will not even be read.

4) Entries should be composed of a TAP description, and no more than eight VERBS that can be used with it. For Example:

TAP: a worn leather songbook

Verbs:
SHAKE: You shake your leather songbook, watching stale tart crumbs fall out onto the ground.
THUMP: You drum your fingers on the cover of your leather songbook.

These are obviously very simple examples. TAP descriptions should not be longer than 80 characters (including spaces). Verbs should be clearly labeled and their text should not exceed 250 characters. Entries will not be considered if they fall beyond these guidelines.

5) There will be five winners selected in DragonRealms Prime and one winner in DragonRealms Platinum, within two months after the final date for submitting entries has passed. Each winner will win a copy of their finished songbook and one free alteration of that songbook. Alterations are available on descriptions only.

6) Disclaimer: (you knew there would be one) Winning songbooks may need to be changed slightly, for editing purposes, when it comes to actually making them. All submitted entries become the intellectual property of Simutronics Corp.

7) Any questions should be sent to DR-DERYKA@PLAY.NET.

Songbook Contest Winners! 10/30/2000 11:39 AM CST
Greetings!

The time has come to announce the winners of the Songbook Contest! Thanks to all of you who submitted entries, they were a true pleasure to read. And a riot in some cases. <G> The following people were ranked to have submitted the best songbooks by our panel judges:

Kithria Dustdanser
Pagius Burwick
Sephirin Altruden
Dewsong de Rosa
Iala Taisal

Winners, you will be contacted in-game about how to collect your prizes. As Melodia said for the tapestry contest, please do NOT assist or report in-game about receiving your prize, I'll make sure you're contacted somehow. Congratulations, folks!

As stated in the rules, all of the entries became intellectual property of Simutronics Corp. when they were submitted. The songbooks may need to be changed slightly when it comes to actually making them.

If you have any questions, please address them to the 'general discussions' boards, or plop them in my mailbox at dr-deryka@play.net.
