Why Do Tert Skills Train At Different Rates? 03/02/2019 05:21 PM CST
I asked this question in a couple of chats, and nobody could work out why, so I thought I'd bring it to the boards.

I have a necromancer, running a very simple and rather small loop of weapons - But I've noticed over the last few days, weapons drain through around 50% less than armors, even though they are both tert skills for a necromancer.

Are necromancers broken in some way? Or has these been an intentional adjustment to slow down necromancer weapon ability and balance it against having pets?

Below is a look at my tracking for today - You'll see that even though light armor has more ranks, it's gained a lot more than the weapons.
(All these skills have been moving from pretty much the off, without been given a chance to drain out to zero)

I don't get the same results on my necro with the same scenario of all skills training without draining to zero so it doesn't look like a necro thing. All the skills below are within 10 ranks of each other.

So I wanted to get a clean run, no off line drain, no chance of anything draining out.

I trained until everything was 30/34 or higher, then quit out, closed genie, and stared up again. Clean picture below:

Do you have bonus experience in armor skills? Use EXP BONUS to check.

You are right! Turns out I do! It's an old character and I never even thought to check the bonus exp

Your Armor pool could fill one empty skill to 184 ranks.
Your Survival pool could fill 1 empty skill to 200 ranks and one empty skill to 149 ranks.
Your Lore pool could fill one empty skill to 128 ranks.

Doesn't look like I have much in there, but that must be what's making the difference

Yup, those make a big difference! You'll drain an equal amount of exp from the bonus pool each time you earn exp from a pulse for skills in those skillsets. It's effectively double xp while it lasts.
