Speaking of Targeted Magic functionality, it would be cool if after we cast a targeted magic spell, if it were to miss, we could redirect it to attempt to land a hit again without having to recast the spell. Sort of like a U-turn effect, except, based on... I don't know, Primary Magic and Targeted Magic, would enable you to make multiple attempts.

Ohh, and very concentration heavy. Concentration needs more use anyway.

No it doesn't. Spending concentration tanks your spell casting ability.

I would like to say I like this idea very much. It is very annoying to wait for full target to complete only to have your target move to the next room, die or a new critter to enter the room changing the order. Those of us with target based spells which now basically includes all magic using guilds, should have options rather than just to say, oh well guess I need to be able to snap cast everything to hit anything effectively.

Please don't make it concentration based though, that is hard enough to train the stats to make it decent as an Elf or Prydaen.

Or you could use a multishot spell, which allows you to make multiple TM attacks with a single cast -- with the proper checks and balances in place.

A new critter entering the room doesn't change or foil your target. Releasing your current target pattern to create a new pattern on a new target is a Warrior Mage perk.

If you miss with a targeted single shot, you have no chance hitting with a multishot spell. The tradeoff a spell takes for being multi-shot makes it unsuitable for use in this situation.

I should have stressed the part in my post about 'checks and balances'. What is being asked for here is the ability to cast a spell twice, fully targeted, with the time and attunement expenditure of casting only a single spell. For a lot of reasons, this just isn't going to happen.

Wythor,

What sort of checks and balances are you thinking of, if not decreased accuracy?
