Done! Slip requires stalking/hiding/stealing in some combination depending on the type of SLIP being used.

So if I have enough perception to see someone hide, stalk and steal they can't slip something into my hands? I thought it was auto success if you had the ability.

if you dont want things slipped to you, get your item count higher. cant slip things to people if they have over a certain amount. Cant Remember if its 300 or 350 though

It's rather funny. Tried to slip a huge ruby to someone who had been adamant they didn't take tips. I have a feeling they would have changed their mind if they had realised it wasn't just a tiny bronze bar or something

There are many things in the game that have no skill checks at all that could be argued they should but would just spoil game play

Things that can be abused such as SLIP(Slip something into both of the person's hands while they are in combat) should always have a skill check.

if someone is paying attention, then they see it appear in their hands, the only way it can hurt someone is if they are unresponsive, not a bad thing, since i use my slips when i see someone i think is afk scripting

<<since i use my slips when i see someone i think is afk scripting>>

we as players aren't supposed to do this. interfering with someone else's script when the gm's might be script-testing them could garner you a warning yourself.

If you think someone is afk scripting, do a report and move on, don't interfere with their script.

Not true. A Thief could easily hinder someone in a fight by inserting another object in said player's hand whenever said player drops the first item. This could be quite troublesome when you're trying to remove your shield or otherwise wield a weapon to strike down said Thief.

Something such as this that can place a negative affect on another player should require a skill check in a skill based game.

Not to derail, but Gonif is correct - don't mess with people you suspect are AFK scripting. Report them and move on.

By messing with them you not only potential invalidate our testing procedures (saving them from a warning) but can end up in trouble yourself in any number of ways (warnings for disruptive behavior, PvP, or just angering someone it turns out is at the keyboard, and much bigger than you.)

If you report someone who is AFK - we will look into it, but there is a lag time, particularly if it is in off hours when most of staff is asleep. Warnings for AFK scripting are far more devastating to a character than anything another player can do to someone. The only thing you do by messing with scripters is potentially save them some pain and get yourself in trouble.

I never said it hurt anything. It's annoying, wether you are paying attention or not. There should be a contest since it can be used to screw with other players. How is that not obvious?

you can also give someone so many copper coins that their burden jumps, should there be a skill check for Giving someone coins too? i mean Burden can kill you alot faster than an item in the hand.

No, it should work just like tip. If I don't want it I wont accept it.

And LOL at people using hax and mech abuse as examples.

The person who introduced me to DR specifically mentioned this as an example when explaining mechanics abuse.
