I'm thinking NMU (Barb/Thief) should get extra slots for abilities because MU have the ability to gain an additional spell via scrolls and then spend 1 slot to get a second scroll. There's no requirement on what the slot cost is for the scroll to be studied/invoked. Therefore, I am proposing that NMUs get three extra ability slots to mitigate this "injustice" ;-)
