Wisdom Boost and Learning 05/23/2019 07:22 AM CDT

I can find plenty of player posts claiming that +Wisdom, say from GG, doesn't affect learning rates, I can't find anything official though. Does anyone have a link, or can a GM respond?

Short of a system limitation I can't think of any reason why it wouldn't. There was one test done that I could find but it was at 100 wisdom with a +20 boost and I'm not sure that's the best way to test it given the serious diminishing returns post 100.

I know here was a GM post for sure stating it explicitly at some point years ago, but I can't find it. It was possibly pre-3.0 so it may not be the best example even if I could find it.

Regarding that post with 100 + 20 stat test though, the GM post below giving numbers to various stat levels does support that it would be a significant enough of a difference to notice even at that stat level. Based on that chart, in their test their unbuffed gain of 4.37% of a rank at 100 WIS would be at about 127 to 128% of the base, rounding up to be conservative. This would mean their base drain was ~3.41 to 3.44% of a rank and their buffed result would have been ~4.43 to 4.47% of a rank given the GM stated 130% amount at a stat of 120 if the buff applied to the learning rate.

That's the thread he referenced in his post and weren't sure it was a valid test due to diminishing returns since it was already at a base 100 in the stat. Going by the other gm post showing the effects of going from 90 to 120 in a stat, I think it is a valid test though.
