...right. If braiding needs to break invisibility, fine. It just seems silly to prevent braiding completely.
Ideally, it would work like this:
I> hum ruff
You fade into visibility.
You begin to hum some quiet scales with only the slightest hint of difficulty.
It's not a big deal except that you can't just release EOTB, so it's a bit annoying.

Stranger yet, you can continue to braid once invisible, it's just the initial step that has the invisibility check:
You confidently braid your grass, certain that you are making excellent progress.
You think it is likely that the braided grass isn't usable for anything yet.

I use a non-effectual command that pulls out of invis before starting brading which I think will work for you too since EOTB I think pulses back to invisibility like RF E.g.:
> lock asdf
> braid grass

It's not as useful as releasing was but you can remove EOTB with a second cast of sufficient mana.
Though for braiding specifically I'd use something similar to what ABSOLON posted and just let it reform.
